Gwendolyn Boyes-Sitler - Author and Artist

The Winnie StoriesBoyes-Sitler's book entitled The Winnie Stories was launched on July 10th, 2004 at her home in Vankoughnet, Muskoka. The compilation of her stories with twelve original works of art, are a delight not only to read but to view as well.

The stories, which are part factual and part fiction, depict a time in rural Muskoka in the early to mid 1950's. Seen through the young and innocent eyes of a carefree girl raised within a large family, the stories expose the reader to the humour and emotions of life in a small Ontario community.

As a recognized Canadian Artist by the National Gallery of Canada and the Art Gallery of Ontario, Boyes-Sitler portrays, not only in words but also in oils, the vibrancy and colourfulness of her childhood years.
